The Chevy Malibu Classic is a big piece of s*. Nothing but problems with this car. At random times my car will not start. I was informed that I needed to turn the key on and listen for the fuel pump to engage and if I hear it engage then I can try to start the car. If you ask me that is messed up never before did I have to listen for anything to be able to start my vehicle. Annoying as hell, and it even gets better. If you try to start the car without hearing the fuel pump engage it triggers the anti-theft system and does not let you start the car for another 15 minute. After that it may or may not start, no guarantees. At times it makes this errrrrrrrrr. sound have no clue where that comes from and the gauges start jumping up and down, this happens at times when I turn the key on to listen for the fuel pump. Replaced the fuel pump, bought a new battery, replaced starter none fixed the problem. Had a system scan done and cleared all codes, etc. started alright for maybe a month. Now it is back to being a piece of s*. My dad is a certified GM mechanic who does not work for them anymore and he cannot figure out the problem either.
