Within a couple of months of purchase, I called the dealership regarding this shift to park issue. It didn't happen to them when they checked the car, so nothing was done. Now the problem has escalated and there are times i just leave the car dinging & my doors are unlocked. My car is paid off, and I no longer have a warranty. I am a senior & there is no excuse for GM to not fix this problem that they are aware of with so many vehicles.

We purchased a used 2019 Chevy Malibu for my daughter's first car. Immediately the issue arose on and off when parking the car. When you shift the car into park a message appears on the dashboard stating "Shift to Park". The car believes you have not shifted into park and the car will not shut off. We have been stuck in the car for over 10 minutes trying to get this message to go away. GM is aware of this issue but has not issued a recall.
