I am a master heavy truck and car tech, retired. 2018 Malibu keeps accelerating after passing another car. First I reach for the floor mat thinking it could have been interfering with the gas pedal .. pull the mat out of the way.. then repeatedly cycled throttle pedal, no help. Put transmission in neutral RPM,s continue to rise, coasted to side road,turn car off. Restarted car, throttle responded correctly. Drove to dealer. At stoplight on normal acceleration, vehicle again over accelerated. Stop and re- started vehicle, continued to dealer. Dealer states that Tech drove car twice and could not duplicated failure???? and Tech "THINKS the flood mats caused the issue'' Called GM hot line waiting for theie response.
