This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have a Malfunction Indicator Lamp on. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code P2096 or P2097. Technician will need to check the rear Heated Oxygen Sensor circuit resistance, terminal tensions, crimps and locks. Technician will also need to check for any crankcase, induction or exhaust system air leaks. If not issues found dealer should communicate to the customer that we apologize for this inconvenience and that General Motors is working on a solution for this concern.
