The 2014 Malibu LS pulled several codes due to a faulty "Variable Valve Timing Solenoid". Car would start and idle fine but acceleration was irregular and noticeably rough. Original solenoid was removed from the engine fairly easy, cleaned inside of solenoid from oil and debris, and reinstalled. Codes were cleared.
Check engine light and same code reoccurred the next day. Ordered new part, Variable Valve Timing Solenoid (Dorman 916-806) and installed. Codes cleared. Problems solved. No further codes or issue for over 6 months now.
