andalong with many other 2013 chevy Malibu owners I too had to replace my rear wheel hub assembly on both rear wheels. I had been hearing a noise when driving for about 6 weeks. I had just over 40000 miles on the vehicle. I thought that my tires were the problem as they were the original tires on the vehical but the noise persisted after I replaced them. I went on line and saw several complaints involving wheel hub assembly failures on this model and decided to see if that was the problem. As most people reported the problem returning shortly when the dealer "fixed" their cars, I decided not to use the same part as the dealer and paid a little more for what I hope to be better parts from Precision Hub company. It took some elbow grease but I managed to replace both rear hub assembly's. I have contacted gm about them compensating me for the cost of the parts but they said that I was out of warrenty and they couldn't help me. I am posting this here and also have filed a report with the NHTSA to help others get this problem some attention so that GM will be forced to address this problem properly and fairly.
Driving home for thanksgiving last year, I noticed a slight noise in the left rear wheel area. As time passed, it got louder and louder. when going around a curve to the right, it get really loud but in a curve to the left, it gets quieter. While going straight it's just an annoying roar. Any suggestions of what it could be? It's almost a year now and getting louder.

Rear wheel, we thought it was rear, but could not tell for sure which one, was very loud inside the car.
After bringing it in they used the chassis ears to verify it was both. And I was told that this is normal for a car with 50,000 miles.
$100.00 later with extended $1,000 plus warranty.
