Sooo my car has been having the reduced engine power light come on, as well as the check engine light, then while driving all the lights on the dash board comes on and goes haywire (since 2021). Speedometer goes out don't know how fast I am going. Took it to the dealership and was told I need to replace the engine. $12,000.
Dealership says I run the risk of the engine just stopping, they don't know when it could be next month, 1 year, 2 years from now. My service agent begins to say your car is older it will have issues you might want to consider another car. I DON"T THINK SO!!!! I ask the Service agent does Chevrolet know of this, is it a recall? He says no. Then I took it to Aamco with the check engine light on, and they said the engine is burning the oil off. I didn't have oil in my car.
Aamco suggest engine replacement $6k used engine with 70,000 miles. NO WAY!!!! Aamco says check oil every time I fill up the car. So I am now topping off my own oil and the dash board lights and check engine light don't come on as frequent. I have had so many other issues with this car. NOPE, I won't be purchasing another Chevrolet. I had my other car for 16 years and over 200,000 miles and traded it in because of the oil pan issue which cost more than the car was worth.
