Car starts and runs well, then I'll stop at the store try to restart and it wants to but doesn't stay running....I'm beginning to think I have a clogged fuel filter....... any suggestions any one, I'm going crazy... only 59,000 miles on this 2012 Maibu LT.
THIS TIME WIFE WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND WAS LEAVING WORK TO GET THE KIDS AND IT WOULD NOT START. TRIED FOR A WHILE AND HAD TO GET IT TOWED. PROBLEM DID NOT HAPPEN AT THE SHOP AND THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR 4 DAYS. I GO TO PICK IT UP AND IT DOES THE SAME THING, NOT STARTING. TAKE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE SAY THE FUSE KEEPS BURNING OUT, IT IS REPLACED AND WE GO ON OUR WAY.
I AM LEAVING WORK HEADED TO PICK MY KIDS UP FROM DAYCARE AND CAR WON'T START. I TRY FOR A HOUR, FINALLY HAVE CAR TOWED TO SHOP SAYING IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP.
My 2012 Malibu stalled at a busy intersection, after sputtering, and no power when stepping on gas. After getting to my dealer, I was told its was bad gas, that they did a Fuel Rail test, and it needed a Fuel Injection Service. This car runs like a piece of crap, and its already had 3 recalls! Three yrs old and its got " water in the tank. Bad gas" I don't think so...what a a bunch of BS !
Update from Apr 3, 2016: After three trips to my dealer, They decided to rebuild my engine. It's been 4 mo, since I had my vehicle fixed, it's now running bad again and it feels like front end is coming apart. I seriously hate this $30,000 vehicle.
It started with my stereo lights not coming on. After tapping it they came back on. I figured nothing of it. Then a few weeks later, I began to smell a burning plastic smell, but couldn't pin point it. I asked a dealership to look into it while doing other maintenance. They tell me it's just a plastic bag that had been stuck to the muffler (later I find they forgot to even check and just fed me that line) A few months later my battery starts to die and car has issues starting. After buying a new battery, my fuel pump starts to fail. Then during a trip to Texas, I have to get the fuel pump replaced. Just to later find, that this entire time it was the melted wire harness and fuse box that was causing these issues.

The vehicle kept cranking but would not start,again. This is the 3rd time in 3 months this has happened. The first time I was told the fuel pump was bad, it was replaced on 2/10/15. on 2/27/15 the same thing happened and I was told it was the rear fuse block that was bad, this too was replaced under the extended warranty. Both times the vehicle had to be towed to the dealership where I purchased the car used in 2013. On 4/25/15 the vehicle again did the exact same thing and again it was towed to the dealership.
Today I am being told it was the fuel pump connector that was bad and cost is at $172. I like the car and am satisfied up until this problem occurred. I am thankful to the extended warranty company for dealing with the dealership and not having a maximum tow clause. I am wondering how many more times I am going to have to be towed in for the same problem. I have owned many GM vehicles and this is the first on I have been plagued by a problem like this.
