After driving for a few miles it won't let me accelerate and vehicle starts shaking. It first happened on the freeway and I was able to exit without an accident. Right after acceleration wouldn't work engine power low, service traction popped up. Once I put the car in park it shakes. I turn off car for about 3 minutes and then it back on and it drives but happens again within 5 minutes

While driving on the freeway, I felt a jump as if I had gone over a bump. The vehicle began to hesitate and started to loose speed. I was able to move to the side and braked to a complete stop. I placed the shift to parking and shift it to drive as I press on gas paddle the vehicle jumped again and was driving as if on the neutral position and the speed wouldn't advance. I shifted once again, and it vehicle jumped again. I googled and it mentioned the shift cable tab could be broken. I looked under the hood and checked the shift cable and there was no tab. Mechanic replaced the bushing and it failed once again. Vehicle is currently un-drivable. I read that GM was recalling this type of problem with 2008-2010 Malibu. I've got images and invoice but having trouble uploading at this time.

The instrument cluster that controls the gear shift that shows if I am in park, reverse, drive, manual don't work with this issue as well as the control panel behind the steering wheel that shows my miles per hour, fuel level, temperature gauge, mileage and more. This is a severe safety risk and I have had my part for this ordered twice but there is so many of this year, make and model car that is needing them that they are back logged out several months. I live in valdosta ga and have to drive around town for the law firm that I work for and this car is so unsafe that I can't drive it bc I have ran out of gas several times and was stranded. Can't tell how fast I'm going so I have been pulled over several times do to that as well.

First of all I am a musician and this car has cut my fingers badly on several occasions. Once I was at an audition and blood was everywhere. You know about this problem cause the web says you have received many many many complaints. Listen if the chrome tape on door handles inside and out peels and cuts them don't allow auto makers to use it please! when you arrive in full dress a suit or nice clothes and you open your drivers door or passenger and the tape slices your finger like a meat slicer and blood is everywhere. I was set to play music tonight and now I can't. I am extremely upset why let them keep using a product that people keep complaining to you about?

I have been noticing and been told my brake lights were on while driving down road and at times my cruise control would not function and it happens during day when I can't tell and at night which obviously is more apparent but not any less dangerous...putting two together my brake lights would be coming on and when I press the pedal to slow down they go off...I bought this car used and after googling to find a fix I see there are many recalls and complaints regarding this issue with this year make and model...as it does not list my VIN to be involved with any recalls it's concerning that the safety of my kids and I could be at risk. I cannot find any positive fix to the problem yet and see many people spent hundreds to thousands at dealerships only to find the problem not fixed...if there's any assistance information or go to's you can provide I would be greatly appreciated

Two days ago my husband, two children and I were driving at about 40-45 mph when our 2010 Chevy Malibu drastically slowed down and wouldn't accelerate with the gas pedal pressed all the way to the floor. At the same time service ESC, service traction and engine power reduced illuminated on our dash. Thankfully we were able to coast into a gas station. After turning the car off and on again, checking under the hood and sitting for over 30 minutes the problem still persisted. The car would not accelerate at all. We had to have a tow truck come get the car and bring it to the Chevy dealership. Today we received a call from the delearship saying we needed to replace the throttle body and it would cost $630. This doesn't make sense as the car has only 13,000 miles on it and has been very well taken care of. I put the VIN into the recall database and the only recall attached to our VIN is the brake lamp malfunction. This is very dangerous and should be looked into by the manufacturer.

Driver side door will not open from inside or outside. Door locks all work go up and down and the other three doors lock and unlock and open, but driverside never opens. Happened once before but after manually using driver lock it caught and worked for close to a month before happening again and now it won't open. Both times happened parked and closing the door the door wouldn't latch shut, after 2nd attempt to close the door it latched shut but then would not open again.

Cruise control when engaged maintains the speed but when climbing a hill the RPM's won't shift the car and then once the car reaches the set speed it still won't shift. The set speed with cruise controls won't stay when decending down a hill but will increase with speed and won't maintain the speed you set it at. This is bad for the engin and transmission as when you de activate the cruise controls the car shifts gears.

2010 Malibu experiences fluctuations in power/ rpms when trying to accelerate. I have taken the vehicle to get looked at severals times, but mechanic could not get the car to replicate issue. Not sure if its related to the fuel system, transmission, or motor. Either way, no one can diagnose this problem. When issue occurs, the vehicle acts sluggish (does not want to go) and bounces between 2 & 3 on my RPM gauge. It's as if I would push the gas then let off the pedal (repeatedly). At first this only happened when going up a hill, but has become more frequent, and is now happening regardless of grade. It is a definate safety issue, as this has occurred when crossing an intersection and merging onto a highway. It does however seem to be resolved if I press the gas all the way down (rpms go up to 4-5 on gauge, then the car finally goes) I have seen many complaints about this online, but no resolution. The number of miles the car has does not seem to be a factor, as this has happened to others with this car being brand new (based on other complaints).this has been happening intermittently for months. This is my first Chevy- bought last year. Seems to have a ton of electrical issues. Bought the car unknowingly with an open recall, tire sensor light comes on intermittently for no reason, car suddenly stalled on the highway and would not start a week after purchased, stereo loses power, power steering is intermittent, the passenger door sometimes fails to open and/or close, the driver side door loses power intermittently, the exhaust is rusting, ect. I did buy a warranty with this car, but being that nothing can be diagnosed, its a waste of money! I still owe over $8000 on this car, and paid blue book value! -Chevrolet totally misleads their customers. Never again oh, and I did recieve a recall letter about my power steering, but the dealership says there is no recall.
