GM has a 5 year, 100,000 mile warranty on the powertrain of its cars. Well my 2010 Chevy Malibu never made it to the 100,000 miles and six months over the 5 years at 55K miles the power train system of the car went out. The car had very little to no power when driving on fwy, at times the engine malfunctioned and the solution was a reboot of the electrical, CAM shaft value replacements both and fuel injection clean up for posterity. All in all a 900 buck repair for a car that for the last 5 years get driven less than 11K miles a year. Its insane, I kept all the regular maintenance and at the dealership to boot. I bought American to support the industry, but never again. I want my 2008 GM bailout tax money, this the reason people don't like American cars. In two words, poorly made (aka they suck).
