August 2013. September 2014, and February 2016 for the same ongoing safety issue. GM doesn't know how to fix it. ESC service light comes on intermittently, brake lights are illuminated 100 % of the time, and cruise control doesn't work. The dealer did the recall a year ago and now I have these issues. Replaced brake position and reprogram for $140 but didn't fix. Dealer now wants to replace ABS modulator valve, BCM, and ABS control module for 1450.

While driving the car at normal traveling speed the electronic stability control shuts off and the car goes into manual steering which makes the car very difficult to control and has almost caused two accidents and has made me ark the car because I feel it is far too dangerous to drive. This started occurring february15th and continued until I parked the car on feb2st.

Center brake light does not consistently light up when prompted by brake pedal. Sometimes it will work, sometimes with a little more effort on the pedal, sometimes not at all. Service ESC will also at times come on. Both issues were part of a recall and supposedly fixed. It did work for a while, but started happening again. I don't think the prescribed fix was sufficient.

12/4/15 night, dry conditions, expressway: In motion: Chime sounded and 2 warnings flash - service ESC & service traction. 15 minutes later, - city streets, dry, same issue with ESC and traction warning lights going on, plus almost rear ended. Irate driver behind me said my brake lights were out, but they were astonished when the break lights came on while I was outside the car. They asked me to press the pedal - no lights. 20 secs after lifting off the pedal, brake lights on. Major safety issue. Upon driving found brake lights always go off when brake pedal depressed, go on at other times randomly while driving and go off again when brake pedal depressed.

The contact stated that the vehicle was serviced under NHTSA campaign number: 14V252000 (electrical system, electronic stability control, exterior lighting, service brakes, hydraulic, vehicle speed control) and indicated that months after the recall repair, a failure related to the recall was experienced and that the recall remedy failed to deter the failure from occurring. The contact stated that the brake lights illuminated when the brake pedal was not applied, the cruise control failed to engage and disengage, and the stability traction control and the brake warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was awaiting a diagnosis and repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

Brake lights were working in reverse after recall repairs were done so Chevy charged me full price for diagnostics because they said that the recall repairs were already done, so there was nothing they could do. We replaced brake switch. A month later problem persisted, Chevy dealership charged $50 for relearning brake position, even though that was all supposed to have been fixed in recall repairs. Brake lights are still not working properly and the traction control/ESC light is on, and cruise control doesn't work. I am now taking it back to dealership and they are charging me an additional $50 just to take another look at it. I feel I shouldn't be charged for any of this since it all should have been taken care of during the repairs done for recall #: 14V252000. This is a dangerous manufacturing error that GM should be acknowledging and repairing at no cost to the owners. I know I cannot be the only one suffering this issue especially after reading numerous customer complaints online.

The car has consistent service ESC / service traction light warnings that cause multiple problems. The most serious now is that the back brake lights buen constantly as if I'm riding my brakes. It also disengages the traction control. This has gone on for 3 years, 7 repairs and it's now out of warranty. I took it most recently to capitol Chevrolet in austin. They simply replaced the same malfunctioning part again. I have case complaint with GM, but no resolution yet. It occurs now every time I start the car. It used to be intermittent

I have filed one complaint about this issue, now after having the brake light switch replaced, I am back again. My 2010 Chevy Malibu, [xxx], the brake lights illuminate when the brake peddle is not engaged. By pressing hard enough on the brakes (which cannot be done when slowing down, or a simple brake), the brake lights do come on. I have had the recall notice on this issue addressed and now have had the brake light switch replaced, this problem is still there. The brake lights do not operate properly and are on when they should be off and vice versa. I have contacted Chevy (GM) by chat, email, and phone and still cannot get help on getting this fixed appropriately. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I was on my way to work and my cruise control cut off by itself then I noticed by brake lights were on. So I pulled over to the shoulder of the road and turned my car off then turned it back on and proceeded to work. My brake lights came back on. When I came home later that evening my brake light were working again, when I tried to use my cruise control it went off again by itself and I haven't been able to use it sense. Now my brake lights stay on all the time I just hope nobody runs into the back of me. When I press the brake my brake lights go off. My inside light doesn't work with this happening to my car. The traction control light stays on all the time have tried numerous things to try and fix the problem. Its getting to be a headache buy a car and now its dangerous I just hope I can get it taken care of before I get into an accident.

As I was driving a light came on that said ESC, traction, service ESC at one point it said traction off. It has happened numerous times sometimes I go to start the vehicle and the light is on and the car will not budge from park and I was stranded for over an hour in the evening all alone. Other time I was driving and the light came on and the brake lights are on the whole time and people were honking at me. My worst time was when I was driving going about 55 on a very dark road with my daughter in the car had about 40 miles to drive to get home and the light came on as I was driving and apparently then I had no brake lights at all ! all the way home no brake lights I was unaware of this until a car drove up on me almost hitting me from behind because he could not see me until he was right on me and I had to swerve over to the next lane to avoid being hit this was a very scary and traumatic incident for my daughter and I! this is beyond dangerous and something needs to be done, when I called the dealership they said their was a recall but that they had fixed it during my last oil change which I was never made aware of but case being if it was "fixed" then why am I still riding in a dangerous vehicle?! one day its okay and the next day I may be on the express way doing 55 hoping not to die due to a faulty system something needs to be done about this issue before someone is seriously hurt! I am disappointed in the way the Chevrolet dealership is just brushing this off as yes it was a recall but we took care of it supposedly so now that's not the problem in their words it's now your problem! I can say that by the way I have been treated and getting the run around and being scared to drive a vehicle that I no longer feel safe in has really really caused me to dislike Chevrolet!

I have had the recall notice (report receipt date: May 14, 2014 NHTSA campaign number: 14V252000 component(s): Electrical system, electronic stability control, exterior lighting, service brakes, hydraulic, vehicle speed control ) previously taken care of by oakley Chevrolet Buick repair shop about a year ago. The problem has returned, the brake lights do not operate properly (they are on when the brake is not applied & when you apply the brake they go off). I returned the car to the shop and they stated that they could not duplicate that problem, but that it may be the brake apply sensor. They had my car all day, and could not tell me what the problem is.....I picked up my car and now I am trying through GM to get the matter addressed. I have been informed to get a second opinion. Which I will do and I will be in touch. In addition to that issue, now the drivers seat belt chimes that the belt is not in use when it is and the car is driving. Another safety issue.

The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the ESC and traction warning indicators illuminated. The contact depressed the brake pedal and the pedal failed to respond. The contact continued to depress the brake pedal and it eventually responded. The contact pulled over and it took several attempts to shift the vehicle into park. The vehicle was powered off and did restart, however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed that the ESC system needed to be recalibrated. The vehicle was repaired, however, the failure recurred. The contact also stated that the brake lights remained illuminated the entire time unless the brake pedal was actually being depressed. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and had not been repaired. The contact stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14V252000 (electrical system, electronic stability control, exterior lighting, and service brakes, hydraulic, vehicle speed control). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
