The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu. While driving approximately 50 mph, the engine warning indicator illuminated with constant reduction in the engine power. The failure recurred whenever the vehicle was in operation. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis where they informed the contact that the crank shaft sensor would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 42,000.
