The power door locks engage and disengage at random. When using the unlock button on the key fob or using the button inside the car, the passenger and rear door looks will partially disengage making it hard/impossible to open the door with out manually pulling the lock tab on the door. The electric stability control and traction control will random engage/disengage or display a service message on the cluster screen. The third break light illuminates at random, not always the break is applied. The radio will display random characters while on or go completely blank.
The windshield wipers stop for no apparent reason on the low setting. They will make approximately one full pass to clear the windshield and the stop halfway through the second in the middle of the windshield. This makes it difficult to see while driving in inclimate weather.
Passenger side low beam keep going out. Replaced bulb multiple times, still doesnt work. Replaced wiring harness within first week of purchasing vehicle and having repeated problems.
After driving the car one mile from home steering became difficult and a message appeared in the dic power steering. I pulled the steering wheel with two hands to get to the side of the road, turned the car off and when turned on the message was gone but the steering was still awkward and not as smooth as it should
Well driving my car got hard to steer, the power steering light come on then I turned the car off, and restarted it then it began to drive back normal then it began to do the same thing again and every time I turned it off and started it back up it would return to normal but in order for the steering to return to normal I have to cut my car off and then turn it back on. Both front speakers, in the doors, do not work. I cannot hear chimes from turn signals being on too long, from keys being in the ignition when the doors are open and other such warning signals. It has caused confusion at times when the warning signals are not alerting me to problems while driving.
While driving, sometimes my brake lights come on when I am not depressing the brake pedal, sometimes, when I press the brake pedal the break lights do not come on, the traction control light comes on and stays of then later it goes off.
Body control module causing braking lights, turn signals not to function while in motion and stationary. Three times I've had the bulbs repaired and wiring harness checked. Given that te front end needs to be pulled just to change the bulbs, this has led to some high repair bills. My understanding is that 2004-2014 Malibu have been recalled for this problem. Chevy recall #13036 NHTSA campaign #14V252000. For whatever reason my vehicle is not included in the recall. It should be, and before my daughter is involved in an accident due to this.
I have had multiple ignition switch failures resulting in loss of airbag systems, the engine not shutting off when the key is removed, the battery dying, a brand new battery started smoking and leaking acid due to a 3rd faulty ignition switch. The issue can be spotty but indefinitely becomes more prevalent as whatever short in the switch gets worse. This is also across multiple switch manufacturers including bwd, ac delco and bmg. I have also noticed that the airbag system may remain on even with the vehicle off and, the battery drainage is much more prevalent when the airbag stays either in the on or off position with the vehicle off. The other issue this causes is the airbag system to completely go off line in which case the airbag warning light will go off but this usually resolves itself after 2 to 10 starts.
Passenger side headlight issue. Headlight lowbeam specifically on passenger side keep going out. After research and testing to find out it's not the actual bulb that's the issue. It's that headlight wiring on several different Malibu's. changed bulb 3 times in 6 month window.
The car loses speed while driving then reduce power shows on dashboard. When stop engine shaking and sometimes does not start.. I took it to the dealer and they couldn't find problem I already spend over 4000 and still happen.
Passenger rear and front door automatic lock doesn't work and passenger has to manually pull it up to get out of car. Electrical panel will reset and then come back normal. Speed, gas, and RPM needles will bounce to 0, E, 0 and then go normal.
Key fob quit working. Bought new key fob from Chevrolet and Chevrolet mechanic could not get it to program. Lock switches on door stop working. Car will lock itself. Had to pay for lock smith because it locked me out.
Every time it rains or is very humid my all of the door locks will randomly lock and unlock ' whether I'm driving or the car is off and I am not inside. Its creepy. The door panel on the driver side initially stopped working and was replaced in January 2018 but by Feb the panel had stopped working again. The passenger side door only locks manually and never responded to driver side door panel controls when they were functioning. Now that my warranty has expired, manual locking it is.
I am not sure where to start. Door locks intermittently don't work, bluetooth just stopped working, have had to change headlight bulbs 3 times in 2 years, power steering went out (had that repaired by dealer at not cost), ac/heater/defroster used to shut off intermittently, now it just stopped working, driver's side seat heater stopped working, instrument panel randomly throws up error code (example: Service airbag, service engine) oh and the paint is fading on hood roof and trunk. Car has 75,000 miles and I used to love it. No I won't drive it out of town.
Takata recal, my cars lock button stopped working and my key pads as well as my headlights go out and come back on on their own. My car was in my driveway and all this happened a few weeks of eachother. Went to change my bulb and old bulb came back on. As well as when all my electrical went bad it was sitting in my driveway all night and battery quit working.

The car keeps dying and shutting off. I have replaced 2 new batteries and an alternator. When I am driving the car will either just die or start to die and all of the lights come on, power steering, ESC emergency brake all of them and then the car eventually dies.
