The r/h front seat support broke and it made it unsafe for my wife to drive. After we were able to fix it the rear seat support broke a couple of weeks later. I am 6'3" and drive with the seat all the way down in the first place so has not affected me. Real concern is the safety of this seat in an accident. It seems that this problem is and has been a problem on Malibus Auras and G6s for years and GM has simply ignored it. What happens when one of these cars is in an accident and the seat breaks? I have always thought of the seat as an integral part of the safety system that you must depend on in an accident. My wife was simply driving down the road when the seat broke at the front bracket. A friend welded it on the front. A couple of weeks later the rear weld broke on the back bracket on the same side but we could not get the weld to take on the back. The outboard side has considerably stronger/more welding than the inboard side. An extra dollar worth of welding would make all the difference but GM seems content to build substandard seats. Will be looking to replace the seat with a salvage seat. New frame is @ $700. Probably going to trade soon, though I generally drive my cars 200k+ miles. Done with GM products although that is all we have ever purchased new with 8 new vehicles in my past. I will probably go with Honda or Toyota.
