Additionally, on several occasions, the ignition would not start and the anti-theft lock warning indicator illuminated. It was unknown as to whether or not the instrument panel became completely inoperative. Mccarthy Chevrolet lee's summit (945 SE oldham parkway, lee's summit, mo, (816) 356-6610) was made aware of the failures. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the falure and provided the contact with reference number: 8-4569149800. The failure mileage was 166,480.

The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic at the contact's residence where it was diagnosed that the anti-theft system was malfunctioning and needed to be reprogrammed.
