The front end sounds like its going to fall apart, just rattling even on a good smooth highway. The steering wheel shakes like crazy, but that seems to be a common problem that, now that I'm aware, is very scary. Can't wait to see if we have that issue. (sarcasm) A friend of mine has an 07 and said the dealer replaced hers and her husband's 05 tie rod issues at no cost because it's a recall item from GM. Not found on any recall website, but may try our luck and see if it can be fixed at no cost. I hate dealers, almost as much as I'm starting to hate this car. Our local newspaper has a consumer buyer beware kind of article each week that specifically described the Mailbu as a first time buyers "I'll love this car!" kind of buy, that turned to a nightmare.. Gee wonder where the writer got their inspiration? Former/current owner perhaps!?
I started noticing noise on the front passenger side of the vehicle when driving at slower speeds (such as around a sub-division). I could replicate the noise by pushing down on the hood on the front passenger side. The problem got worse after about two weeks when I finally took it in. The bill said "RT Lower Ball Joint Worn/Creeking Replace RT Lower Control Arm Joint Warn/Noisy." The car was not under warranty but the dealer covered the parts and I paid for the labor ($150).
Well I bought this car used and it was a GM Certified Used Vehicle with about 33,000. I had the car about a week or 2 and the front started to "rattle or clunk" whenever I went over a bump, any size, at any speed. I took it back to the dealer and they said the bushings were bad and they would fix it under the warranty. It fixed the problem for about 15,000 miles and now it is doing the same thing. I think I just want to get new struts and new bushings. Other than that I love my car.
I purchased this car about a month ago and I've noticed a rumble coming from what seems to be the front end of the car. The noise isn't noticeable at some times, but on certain roads it is quite annoying and loud, especially at lower speeds. I know that there is a TSB on this and I plan to have it looked at very soon, but so far I haven't really felt the need to take it in.
This car makes alot of rumble type of noise in the front suspension area. The noise is mostly heard if traveling slow(under 15mph) on roadways/driveways. Small bumps seem to effect the noise the most. There is a TSB for it, but I have not really checked into it in great detail. However, the car is almost out of warranty now and I will have them look at it.
