I bought this 2005 Chevrolet Malibu classic in 2006. It had 10,000 miles on it. It had the usual warranty - a certified automobile.

In January 2007 (in a blizzard) the car wouldn't start. I needed a battery. Mind you, I just owned the car for a year. Had it towed to the dealer. They put in a new battery and told me that it had to do with some pass lock sensor.

In January 2008 I had another battery installed, free of charge. They said that some of the cells in the battery were dead and they replaced the passlock cylinder sensor free of charge due to the certified car warranty.

In January 2009 I had another battery installed, free of charge.

On November 27, 2009 I had another battery installed, free of charge, because the warranty on the battery installed in January 2009 was sill in effect due to the warranty on the battery.

But the dealer told me that the cause was in the pass lock sensor code and it would cost $530.00 to repair it.

What a damn ripoff that would be.....and what the hell is wrong with General Motors? I always said I would own a GM car, but this has soured me from ever owning another one. As much as I dislike Ford autos, I may decide to go for one of those rust-out models.

It cost me $115.00 for the dealer to do som tests on my car. That was another ripoff.

So, I have owned this stupid auto for 4 years and 9 months and have had to replace the battery 4 times.

Being a female I know nothing about pass lock sensors and the theft system. I am not a fix it guy at the dealership.

As soon as I get some $$$ saved, this car is going by by. And, I may venture into a Ford product, which I don't want to do, but may be forced to do so.
