During hot weather, using the A/C, it intermittently changes between fresh air and recirculated air and shuts down unless I forcibly hold the switch while driving along attempting to keep the system cooling. The system is fully charged and this has been occurring since I bought the car used from a Chevrolet dealer. Never went back to the dealer or reported it to them but am considering it this year. Appears there are too many coincidental electrical issues with this car.

I bought this car in the winter 2009 and had no problems with heating. When summer came I found that the AC would come on, even if not selected, and would quite often go OFF if recirc was selected. When recirc was selected, it would usually return to OUTSIDE air. I was able to overcome the problem by pressing and holding the recirc button until I wore it's resistance down and it would stay. Then, I might have to push the AC button 10-20 times to get the AC on. This control seems to have a mind of it's own. I bought a used control on Ebay. It works much better but still has a problem with returning to OUTSIDE air. Apparently this is a common problem for which GM has no concern.
