Turn signals just randomly work when they want to. Had it to the garage recently and asked why they didn't work right, didn't get much of an answer. This is a real safety issue and in doing my research, I'm not the only one with this issue.
The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu. Occasionally either one or both of the turn signals will suddenly stop working. If she turns the hazard light switch on and off and then push on the lower left corner, the turn signals will then began to function properly. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealership. Turn signals stop working during travel. No apparent cause. Signals will work during the trip, stop working, and sometimes start to work again. Seems to happen 3-4 times per week. No corrective action has been taken.

The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu. While driving approximately 45 mph, the turn signal mechanism failed. The turn signal has not yet been repaired. The contact plans to take the vehicle to an authorized dealer for repair. The current and failure mileages were 68,961.
There have been problems with my hazard switch and blinkers on my car. They work basically when they want to. I had brought it to a Chevrolet dealer over a year ago and they had no idea what I was referring to. It seems as if its a defect with the car and I'm not sure bout finding out what to do about it.
Turn signals and headlights work intermittently. Has been an on-going problem for the last 6 months. Have had car the dealer - they say that there is nothing wrong. I find lots of information that this has been a problem in many of these cars.
The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu. From the date the vehicle was purchased, the contact has experienced failures with the turn signals failing intermittently and the anti-theft device used to start the vehicle. The failures were noticed while driving 34 mph. The current mileage is 57,000 and failure mileage was 56,000.
Have not been informed of the addition of the 2002 Malibu to the recall for turning light failure by dealership as of this date.. even after I contacted dealership for an estimate of repairs or coverage by my extended warranty.
Turn signals on my 2002 Chevy Malibu intermittent to not working for periods of time. Upon pushing the hazard flasher button several times turn signals eventually would work for awhile. Called dealer to scheduled maintenance was told parts would cost $31 and total with labor would be $75. Found on NHTSA web site NHTSA action number : PE05055 which is the exact turn signal problem. I received no notice from GM as stated in NHTSA action number : PE05055 and I am the original owner of the car and purchased it from the dealer I called for service. I forwarded the service department NHTSA action number : PE05055.
Turn signal sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, radio cuts off, I received a recall notice from Chevrolet about this incident, took it to my local dealership and was informed they did not have any recall on file for my VIN number, despite the exact issue, turn signal causing electrical issues, being written on the service card.
My 2002 Chevy Malibu has intermittent failures of the turn signals and hazard flashers. The problem tends to exhibit itself more often in warm and/or humid conditions.
Intermittent turn signal failure. After briefly turning on the hazard lights, the turn signals will sometimes work for a short period of time, but inevitably they fail again soon afterward.

The vehicle was never taken to a mechanic. There is a recall, #03V327000 concerning the hazard flashing warning light switch. The vehicle is experiencing the same problems as the recall, however it is not included in the recall due to the year of the vehicle.
