Yesterday, I went to start my car and the engine would crank but not start. This occurred before, less than 3 weeks ago, so I had it towed and had the fuel pump replaced on it by a family member because that's what they thought the problem was. Car was running fine and then yesterday go to start it and it won't start, just cranks. Battery was fine and everything else seemed to be working. Had it towed to a Chevy dealer who looked at it both yesterday and today and couldn't find anything wrong with it. They said it started fine each time they tried to look at it and couldn't recreate the problem. I have had the starter recall fixed on this car that occurred earlier this year as well.
After doing some research, I have learned this a common problem in Malibus and it seems to deal with the anti-theft and passlock system. I can't not have a stable car as this is the only car my family has, it is very frustrating that this occurred and obviously needs to be fixed or recalled by Chevy if so many owners are having this same issue.
