Engine leaks anti-freeze, turn signals go in & out, fuel gauge not always right, making a loud banging noise, and now dead won't even start. 2001 Chevy Malibu 3.1L V6 $22,000 & only 67,000 miles.
My turn signals work when they want. I call Chevrolet and I was told this part had been changed July of 2001. This was a recalled part and I'm not sure if the one put in in July 2001 was a new part or still one that was on recall. But I was told by Chevrolet that they would not pay to fix it.
The contact stated the turn signals work intermittently, and they seem to be getting worse. A local mechanic looked at the vehicle. There was NHTSA recall 03V327000. But, this vehicle was not included due to VIN. This has been happening for approximately two years. There have been no repairs for this problem at this time.

While driving and upon making right or left turns signal light went out. Consumer put the signal light on and it went off intermittently. Took vehicle to dealer several times. However, the problem recurred.
The turning signals and hazard lights quit working without warning. I have contacted GM according to the instruction on the Consumer Affairs website. GM has informed me my veichle is not involved in the recall.
Intermittently, the exterior signal lights will not work properly. The interior flashers operate normally, but the exterior lights will not respond. The manufacturer and the dealer are aware of the problem. If the hazard light switch is pushed several times, then the turn signals would work.
Problems with vehicle's turn signals, door locks and brakes. The check engine light illuminated for six months until the dealership was able to service the problem. The door locks would freeze in the winter time and would open spontaneously while driving. The dealership responded by stating they didn't experience this while the vehicle was being checked. Thus, the problem wasn't handled by the company. Apparently, the door hinges were never properly greased until the consumer's father did it. This resolved that problem. Brakes were rough and unresponsive at times. The turn signal work when they wanted to or when the A/C was on maximum output. The vehicle started to use massive amounts of antifreeze.
I have a '01 Chevrolet Malibu, my fuel injector went out of car, antifreeze chamber leaking (replaced), turn signal unit went out. ABS system had to be replaced, went out..all under extended warranty. All under 60,000 miles. Dealership (bobb Chevrolet) oh has no recalls on this car, I believe this should be listed as a lemon.
My turn signals and hazard signals do not work properly. Sometimes they come on, but most of the time they don't. I have had numerous near misses in residential neighborhoods and on the highways. I am afraid someone, including myself and my children, will be seriously injured or even killed.
The turn signals stop working at times. You never know when you get into the car whether they will work or not. There must be something wrong with the flasher or something. I have seen other complaints about this on the Malibu on the internet.
The turning signals failed to function when windshield wipers were used. Dealership replaced multi functioning switch. Also, passenger's side seat belt catches, but wouldn't release.
A 2001 Chevy Malibu, 40K miles, sporadically the turn signal quit working, I have searched your site & seen where they was aware of the problem, but why no recall. & it did not discuss what GM did to correct the problem.
