The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu. While driving at any speed, the turn signal and hazard lights worked intermittently. The lights operated on their own without being manually activated. The contact discovered NHTSA campaign id number 03V327000 (03043) (exterior lighting:hazard flashing warning lights:switch) for this same failure; however, the dealer would not honor the recall. The current mileage was 104,000 and failure mileage was 103,000.

After the hazard lights were serviced, they began to remain illuminated and would not shut off. The horn has also stopped working. The contact also stated that the turn signals would work intermittently. The current mileage was 77,894 and failure mileage was 68,000.
Intake manifold gasket replaced three times under and outside of warranty. Hazard switch malfunctioning - almost caused accident turning signal/wiper washer switch malfunctioning premature brake wear until calipers replaced check engine light various emissions and fuel vapor leaks.

Consumer contacted the manufacturer, who told consumer that this vehicle was not included in the recall due to VIN. The consumer stated that the turn signals work sometimes and other times they do not. Turn signals blink faster/slower than normal on the conusmers vehicle.
The hazard lights and turn signal lights were defective. Sometimes they worked, and sometimes they did not work. If the consumer hit the dashboard the signals would work. This vehicle was not included in the NHTSA recall 03V327000.
While driving and upon using the turn signals or turning the hazard button the lights will not illuminate and became inoperable. Consumer stated that was having the same exact problem as mentioned in recall 03V327000. Contacted the dealership. However, the problem recurred.
Consumer's vehicle experienced the same problem as mentioned NHTSA recall 03V27000. Hazard warning switches may experience solder joint cracking caused by rapid temperature transitions and the soldering process. If solder joint cracking occurs and results in an open circuit, the turn signals/hazard lamps become intermittent or inoperative. Dealership indicated to the consumer that this vehicle wa snot included in the recall due to VIN.
I have hazard warning failure indicated on your web site for Malibu but GM states that my vechicle number dosen't fit with the recall on my Malibu, but this continuse to be a concern for my wife and myself when we are driving not knowing our single lights will fail
The consumer stated the turn signal lights came on and went off on their own. The consumer was able to drive the vehicle to the dealer for inspection. The mechanic informed the consumer that the turn signal light unit needed to be replaced. The consumer informed the mechanic about recall(03V327000) but the mechanic informed the consumer that the recall was not for this vehicle. Please fill in additional information.
Exterior lighting, turn signals hazards light.quit working then start then qiut.the Chevrolet garage told us it is a soldering problem, nd the car was made like this and others Malibu was recalled but yours hasn't and its the same year, make, and model.
The consumer received recall 03V327000 concerning the hazard flashing warning light. Intermittently, the hazard flashing warning light and turn signals did not work. The consumer was infomed his vehicle identification number was not included in the recall.
