Bought a used 1999 Malibu. Car wasn't running at time. No owners' manual.Had engine work done. Battery was disconnected. After picking up car, radio wouldn't "power-up"; no indications of power, stations, etc. Unit is original AM-FM Delco w-tape and automatic tone control option. Subsequently found info. on Theft-Deterrent Feature. Removed radio, reinstalled, now have power to radio, but Theftlock system has unit locked out. Do I need to provide Vin #, radio serial #, or other info to GM dealer to somehow unlock radio, or is there a way to locate codes within radio itself? Is there any other way to unlock radio without secret codes explained in Audio System section of owners manual?
