I have had the car back to the dealer 4 times for the same problem. The rotors. May 99, 9800 mi, Feb 00, 18247 mi, May 00, 23,236 miles and now today 35,500 mi. The first 2 times they shaved the rotors and the third time they replaced them. However they never put on new pads. Now today they tell me I need new brakes. They car is doing the same thing it did other time. At a speed of over 50 mph it shimmies. There should definetly be a recall on the brakes. The tires all had to be replaced as they split. Also I have water coming into the left tail light and puts out the bulb.( dot number: )
Brakes failed to work properly when they were applied. Tires would go flat every 3 days. Had them checked for holes or cuts, nothing was found. Engine had stalled out while driving due to blown head gaskets.
Travelling at a speed of 45mph when right rear tire blew out. Temperature was 15 degrees and the tires have been properly maintained/rotated. (tiresize: P215/60R15)( dot number: Tire size: P215/60R15 )
Pad/,rotors, tires replaces at 22,000 miles. Tires chopped and feathered. Rubbing began at 7,000. Told dealer on several occasions, finally at 22,000 problem was corrected. Vehicle parked. Tire picked up tack. Noticed cracks just below the tread. Was jagged along 3/4 of left rear tire. Checked other tires & cracks on them, but not as bad. All four tires had numerous cracks. Took to Firestone retailer & was informed will be looking into the problem. Dealer will not mechanic touch tire. 1998 Chevrolet Malibu. Firestone affinity touring T2. P215/60R15 with 30,000 miles. Dot # W2mwaaa397.

Front tires completely worn in the middle. Was told by Chevy dealership that they won't replace. Car makes a cupping sound and front wheel bearings have been replaced 4 times in less than 3 months.( dot number: Tire size: P215/60R15 )
While being towed a tire experienced a blowout causing the belt of the tire to wrap around the inner wheel support and had to be cut to remove the tire, tires have been rebalanced twice, trued at least two time and the vehicle still ride hard and noisy (Firestone affinity 215/60R). Nlm
Malibu suspension is unsafe. Front control arms, rear struts, brake lights, rear turn signal, rear tires worn because of struts, headlamps failures make it obvious Chevy is marketing unsafe Malibu's. Chevy should buy back these defective cars especially mine it's an unsafe piece of junk!( dot number: Tire size: 215-60R15 )
ABS not working. Break problems replaced at 19,000 miles and I am having problems again. Noise coming out of the front right tire. Rear view mirror fell off.( dot number: Tire size: 15 )
