There have been repeated failures with this automobile. The passlock anti-theft system often locks up the ignition, the headlamp and tail lamp assemblies have excessive moisture in them, causing the bulbs to burn out, the air conditioner fan motor shuts off, and the drivers seat is loose. These problems have repeatedly been reported to the dealers, and they have been unable or unwilling to repair them.
The vehicles computer system malfunctioned. The warning lights for ABS brakes and anti theft would come on frequently. Finally the dealer replaced the computer control module.
There has been numerous problems with the brakes, they have been replaced every 20,000 miles. The cruise control has been fixed a few times and needs repair again. Now, the engine has started to consume oil and I have been told it needs replacement. The Malibu is a lemon of a car.
