this was my first car. paid almost 3,000 cash for it. took it on the highway not even 24 hours after i bought it. set my cruise control to 65 and it kept accelerating all the way to 85 where it got stuck, pushed the brakes with all my power and the car would not stop. i tried to turn off the cruise control manually and it still keep going 85. i took an off ramp where i seen two semis infront of me stopped at a red light and with both feet on the brake pedal my car still would not stop. i seen my life flash before my eyes. i was 17 at the time with my 1 year old son in the vechile and all i thought was that we were going to hit these semi trucks and be killed. as i approched the semis still going 85 mph i decide my last resort was to throw it in park. it stopped the vechile with inches to spare. i am very thankful for me and my sons life , because we might not have been there to see another day due to that 2001 chevy lumina. i ended up getting all 3,000 dollars back i spent on the vechile considering i was only 17 and its illegal to sell a minor a car on a contract. thank God i dont have that death trap anymore !!!
