This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Exterior paint, peeling, flaking, rusting. I realize this car is now 11 years old, but this problem started when the vehicle was only about 5 years old. The paint has peeled off in large patches in many areas of the car, revealing the dull gray primer.
In 2000 my white 1996 4 door Chevrolet Lumina started losing paint in various places and has continued to do so until now there are large spots of metal showing. With otherwise having a perfect car, this makes for an unsightly problem. Other people have to us similar stories about this year, color and make of vehicle. Is there anythiing I can do?

This vehicle has experienced a engine check light on or flashing many times throughout the past couple of years. It has stalled on the highway & had to be towed in multiple times. Bulletins apply but the dealer said they had all been done, not according to the repair orders. It is an on going problem that they refuse to acknowledge despite the fact they have experienced the problem. Letter has been sent to the dealer president without resolution & now one sent to GM.
