I smelled smoke in my vehicle, so I pulled over. It seemed to be coming from the vent. My friend thought it was electical, so he started pulling fuses to stop the problem. I discerned that the problem was the motor that opened and closed the automatic door opener on the van. I told my friend to just get out and I called the fire department immediately, but by the time they had arrived my car was fully engulfed in flames. I am thankful that I did not have my children with me at the time as I don't know if I could have gotten them out in time. My three year old would have been in the built-in car seat which is next to the door. The fire happened so fast. I might add I have never had any problems with the door or automatic door opener. My car was totaled.
The contact stated the passenger's side door will not open from the outside. It is possible to open it from the inside of the car, but with great difficulty. She is afraid the driver's side door will experience the same problem and she will not be able to open it. The driver's side door came open while she was driving the vehicle. She heard a loud popping sound prior to the sliding door falling off its hinges. The windshield wipers work intermittently. The mechanic told her he thought the windshield/wiper motor was bad. A loud knocking noise was heard coming from the rear of the vehicle while driving, driver's side and passenger's side locks locked and unlocked on their own. Consumer drove the vehicle to dealer for inspection, but mechanic was unable to duplicate the door problem. However, mechanic replaced the shocks on both driver 's side and passenger's side. Consumer informed the mechanic that the problem recurred, and had not been resolved.
Slowed down to make left turn, vehicle hit driver on front right side, door flew open and slammed shut, catching drivver's fingers and cutting off three fingers. Thinks the latch came loose.
