ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO, BACK IN AUGUST, I NOTICED UPON STARTING MY VEHICLE IT WOULD MAKE THIS "POP" SOUND. IT ONLY HAPPENED EVERY ONCE IN WHILE, SO AFTER ABOUT THE 3RD TIME HEARING IT (WITHIN IN 1 MONTH), I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP KEPT IT FOR ONE DAY AND RETURNED IT SAYING THEY FOUND NO PROBLEM. THE "POP" WOULD ONLY HAPPENED IN THE MORNING OR EVENING WHEN I LEFT FROM WORK. IT WOULDN'T "POP" AGAIN IF I TRIED RESTARTING AFTER THE 1ST ATTEMPT.
AFTER ABOUT 4 MORE WEEKS OF HEARING THIS "POP" (EVERY BLUE MOON) I RETURNED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN. THIS TIME THEY KEPT IT OVER THE WEEKEND, TOLD ME IT WAS THE EXHAUST AND THEY REPLACED SOME HOSES. 2 WEEKS LATER, I HEAR THE POP AGAIN. THIS TIME I RETURNED IT AND REQUESTED A LOANER UNTIL THEY FOUND THE REAL PROBLEM. THEY KEPT IT FOR A WHOLE WEEK, RETUNED IT, AND SAID IT WAS THE STARTER STICKING. SO... THEY REPLACED THE STARTER. LO AND BEHOLD, A WHOLE ONE WEEK AFTER THEY REPLACED THE STARTER, I HEAR THE "POP" UPON STARTING IT AGAIN!!!
TODAY I FOUND OUT A COWORKER IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR 2016 IMPALA. THEIR'S NO LONGER STARTS WITH THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, THEY HAVE TO USE THE FOB TO START IT. THIS IS REALLY SCARY FOR ME BECAUSE THE SOUND REMINDS ME OF WHEN MY BUICK PARK AVE CAUGHT FIRE IN MY GARAGE UPON STARTING IT AND HEARING THE SAME KIND OF "POP". THIS CAR OBVIOUSLY NEEDS A RECALL!!
