First it only shifted hard accelerating between 30-40mph where it seemed like it was having a hard time catching gear. I took it into the shop to get it checked out. They said it maybe I was running too rich of fuel in it because I was using 89 or 91. The issue kept happening so I brought it in again. This time they said it was a bad motor mount and it was changed. A few months after the motor mount was changed I was bringing my kid to school and after I slowed down to make a right and stepped back on the gas, it hesitated to accelerate and I almost got hit because of it. When it finally caught gear or whatever the underlying issue was, the car jerked us forward. The car is UNSAFE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CAR.
Update from Aug 16, 2017: Update by date : Miles 45k
Sunday 8/13 while driving at 30 mph accelerating the car violently jerked my son and I forward. It then again violently jerked us forward while downshifting at 25mph. It continued to do the same for a few minutes while my son in the back seat was screaming because he was so scared. I thought we would have whiplash. Then the check engine light came on and the car would no longer shift and reached 4500rpm. I pulled the car over and shut it off. I restarted a few minutes later but it still had the same issues and felt as if it eould stall at any moment. Luckily I was able to get it home because I live 5 minutes away from where the issue began. I was unable to call chevy that day as it was a sunday and customer service is not available.
Monday 8/14 Chevy customer service did not want to tow my car to a dealership until thursday 8/17 until I spoke to a manager. The manager got my car towed to Valley Chevrolet in Wilkes Barre PA. I was informed I would be provided a rental pending the vehicles disability status. They also offered for me to temporarily pay for a rental out of pocket from enterprise and I could be reimbursed, again pending the diagnosis. I declined as this did sounded like a shady offer similar to a rebate for an electronic device which should not apply to a car and I did not have cash for a rental.
Tuesday 8/15 I called Valley Chevrolet a few times throughout the day for an update on the car but they did not have it in yet and stated they would call. They did not call.
Wednesday 8/16 I called Valley Chevrolet and spoke with Paul. He stated the car gave a code for internal transmission failure but would not provide me the code number, stating it was irrelevant. I asked about the rental and he said I did not qualify for the rental because the car is over 36k miles. I relayed the information Chevy customer service gave me from monday when they stated I would get a rental if it was found the car had a failure due to an issue on behalf of Chevrolets vehicle. He said that if I do not want the vehicle repaired there, that he could leave my vehicle outside. I called customer service who stated they may be able to provide the rental for 3 days but would need further authorization for the remainder of the time it is in the shop. The shop is replacing the transmission and I was informed that it can take 7 days for it to be completed. I was offered again to pay for it out of pocket and be reimbursed. I will not be taking this offer as these practices are deceptive and I am now anticipating future issues due to lack of customer service and again, Chevrolets deceptive practices. I'm currently waiting for a call back to see what happens with the status of the car rental.
