Impala LT V6

My side detention message came on. The next thing I know, nothing in my car will work. It took me 10 tries to finally get my car started. Once I did it get started - no radio, no heat, nothing... nothing displayed for about 10 minutes. Then all of a sudden my gas gauge, rpm, all MY ELECTRICAL ITEMS fluctuated. then completely stopped working.

To turn off my car I had to use my fob. This is way too scary... Looking for recall - this is NOT SAFE and I see others are having the same issue. THIS IS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND I WOULD HATE FOR THIS TO HAPPEN.

Impala LT 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,500 miles

Started with warning lights and signals on dash. diagnosed by dealership and told wiring harness was on back order and could take a long time to come in, they inspected car and told me it was safe to drive... LIES. not even a week later was driving on express way doing 70 MPH and all warning lights came on, rpm, speedometer, gas gauge and temp gauge went to zero, interior lighting off, radio off, no signal lights, no hazard lights, no headlights, no wipers. NOTHING... Car was still driving, got warning for power steering and brakes needing service, so I pulled into a parking lot and tried to turn the car off to see if it'd turn the lights off and restart the battery. CAR WOULD NOT TURN OFF (I have push button for start) so I kept trying, nothing. Finally car quits and shuts off and WOULDN'T TURN BACK ON.... key fob wouldn't work, nothing. I had my infant in the car, luckily nothing caused an accident or injury. GM is on my sh*t list.

Impala 2LT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

Side detection system broke last week, so no blind spot detection. I didn't want to deal with paying to fix it so figured I'd drive the old fashioned way. Started my car today to find ABS and Stabilitrak lights on, console also popped up with now 3 messages 1) service stabilitrak, 2) service power steering, drive with care, 3) service side detection system. The car is a 2014 LT2, with JUST 60k miles...I had to drive home from the store with barely any power steering assist, and my dash lite up like a christmas tree. I see issues with recalls for power steering but my VIN doesn't match according to the website, even though there is clearly an issue with the power steering.

All the forums I have read have THOUSANDS of complaints about electrical failures, and just bulletins from Chevy, not actual recalls to keep customers safe. I am thankful this happened in a parking lot and not while I was on the highway, or when my wife was driving. It was a struggle to steer the car without the assist. For a less than 4 year old car, and at a cost of 35k...I would have expected better or at least a recall to keep people safe. Very disappointed, and looking to sell once I figure out how to fix this nightmare.
