It all happened suddenly and I got panicked. Later I got a new actuator from an online auto parts store and changed it myself by watching YouTube videos. I think GM should have a recall on this because this problem is abnormal and premature for a five year old vehicle.

Impala LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,000 miles

Every time we start the car, a loud clanking coming from the dashboard keeps going for a few mintues. Sometimes the A/C or heating get confused, but that's rare. I got it checked, but it costs $800 to replace all 4 actuators for air distribution in the cabin. It seems this s a known issue and GM does absolutely nothing to fix it.Yeah, the car lasted without that annoying noise for about 2 years, just enough to get out of warranty. Shame on Chinese made low quality devices that GM uses! Should at least fix it even out of warranty. It's not supposed to last only 3 years ?!

Impala LT 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 92,000 miles

This issue is very annoying the dealership tried to charge me an arm and a leg to fix this issue. They said to diagnose the car is $129.95. Then the actuators are $70 each and the payment for each one is between $139 to $1,042. This is the second time that I have had this issue with this car. I feel like it is a major defect with Impala's and the manufactures should have put out a recall a long time ago. I will never buy a Chevrolet/GM car again. I will let people know to never get one either. This is sick of them to this and people will know. Karma will get them

Impala LT 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission

This Impala with dual cabin temperature control has 3 blend door actuators that go bad as often as once a year depending on car use. This is a crying shame and a rip off by the manufacturer General Motors Chevrolet for not posting a recall by now for this safety-related problem. The sudden change in cabin temperature from cold ac to hot air caused my windshield to fog up while driving on the interstate highway lost visibility and nearly got into a total loss wreck with vehicles in front of me. GM needs to issue a recall on this problem. Thanks a lot GM for costing me an additional $380 in auto repairs once a year.
