While returning home from Lancaster, we stopped for gas and I was not able to start my car, remove the key, or do anything. I called triple A and they came and found that the battery had exploded somehow. There were no coverings on the holes in the battery and you could see that the battery completely drained all the fluid or whatever was supposed to be in the battery. They replaced the battery and advised that this could have caused a major problem if it exploded while I was driving and caused extreme damage to both us and the car. It was after 10 pm at night and I had three other passengers in the car at the time and we all were deathly afraid to drive home, however, my granddaughter had her first day of school the next day as well as my daughter, so we had no choice.
I took the old battery and my car to the dealership the next day and they did a diagnostic test on the car and stated there was no problems with the system. They also reimbursed me the expense, however, this was a horrifying experience. It also caused problems for the gas station we were stuck at and interfered with their business while triple A was there and the wait for them to arrive. I feel that Chevy should be responsible for the batteries they install in their cars. This was the battery that came with the car I purchased. I am not sure about the mileage, it might have been a little higher. We only purchased the car within that year with a little over 16,000 miles. I hope my other problems are not a result of this one. As I stated previously, I will not be looking at buying a Chevy again.
