The car can have moments of power loss where the speedometer suddenly, erratically spikes while the tachometer slightly lags. It almost stalled my vehicle while transmission was in drive while stopped. It feels like dragging when the power loss occurs. This has occurred randomly for the past month, mostly during interstate driving with cruise control operating. It has happened the last six times I have driven, but the previous several times it did not occur. It also occurred in a similar random fashion for the prior two weeks. When it does occur it feels like power drain and deceleration that can last a second and this will occur several times during a twenty minute drive at 70mph. Mechanics at two shops seem confused and don't know where to begin except for a transmission fluid flush. That was completed and the problem has persisted. There are no related error codes. To lose power suddenly and unexpectedly could cause an accident especially if a system failure shuts off the vehicle while driving. This vehicle has had an oil consumption/burning problem since I bought it with around 60,000miles. It needed 2 quarts of oil added between the last oil changes. I have spent $1400 in July of this year on gasket replacements and that did not stop the leak. More gasket heads and an oil pan are going to be need to replaced and the estimate is another $1400. This is too much to be spending on possibly related issues in a short time span that may not resolve the problem.

Car cut off at speed in curve after quick dash warning: Stabletrack.....reduced engine power..... then cut off. No power brakes, no power steering, engine stopped running. If traffic had been in opposite lane would have been head on collision. This needs to be a recall. My wife will not drive her Impala any longer. This is my 14th Chevrolet - possibly my last!!!!!

My car has worked fine scince I bought it with no check engine codes.I pulled into parking space and put car in park, all of a sudden it stalled out and will not crank anymore but has power.key will not come out of ignition and battery will not shut off.the ignition switch is a very common problem with Impala and is very dangerous.it locks people out of there cars, gets stuck in gears, wont let key release, wont start, sets off anti theft signal which cuts power to door locks, trunk, starter, fuelpump, and more.I have read hundreds of forums of this problem with Chevy Impala that has been going on for years without the problem being fixed.elderly women breaking down on highway or car just shutting off and not restarting.it is soooooo common with Chevy that they can diagnose the problem just over the phone.this is very unacceptable and has to be dealt with.please recall this problem.

I was noticed that the car if it sets without being ran. That it was lossing gas on the gas gauge. I would park the car over the weekend and when I check the Monday before work that the gauge had dropped. I had a friend check and he said that the fuel lines where wet with fuel and looked like they had dragged on the ground. He said I should get a hold of a dealership to see if there is a recall or a safety design flaw that can get this fixed. Cause 1 spark and the car could catch fire.

I was driving home from work and I was doing 55 mph, and the car started to hesitate, and the dashboard info read stabilitrac, engine safty mod, and reduced power. Then the car started to slow down, and when I tried to give it some gas the engine started to knock, and the temperature gauge went all the way up to the top. I pulled over and shut the car off, and opened the hood, and it wasn't even over heating. After letting it sit for a few minutes I started it up and went about five hundred feet and it did it again.

Air bag sensor has been tripped for the past 7 months, I have researched this recall, and it looks like the wiring harness might be the only thing that needs to be replaced. However, whenever, I put in my VIN number, there aren't any recalls for this. Also, I have received a letter about the gas sensor possibly being bad, however, when I took it into a Chevy dealer to have it fixed, they refused to. They told me that the check engine light wasn't on, and that I had to wait until it failed before they would fix it! failure of this sensor means, it could fail in an intersection, or while I am passing someone, or whatever, this is a safety concern!!! I am very unhappy that they wouldn't fix it. Now, my check engine light is on, however, it is because another sensor is bad! the evc sensor now has to be fixed. The airbag sensor was tripped while I was driving on the hwy at 70 mph on a warm day of 80 F or so. The evc sensor tripped overnight when I started the car in the morning. The gas pedal sensor has been a problem for 3 years because Chevy dealers refuse to fix it. These concerns are in addition to the other mechanical fixes that I have had to do on a car that has less than 87,000 miles on it! I am feeling like I have a lemon of a car and that this Impala is the worst car on the market. I have had several Chevy products, and have never experienced problems like this. What happened to the great products that Chevy once produced"?"

Reduced engine power lights came, on traction control light came, on it was hard to accelerate in the middle of a highway, car almost shut down, but I made it home. It has happened twice on the highway and turnpike. I thought it was oil but that wasn't the issue. It stops (the problems) after I shut the car off for an evening, but I'm scared it will power down while on the highway again. When this issue happens the car beeps, then the traction light comes on with warning and so does the engine light and reduced engine power warning. Always in motion, especially higher speeds than normal city streets. Such as turnpike and highway.

After purchasing this vehicle within 30 days the air bag system light came on I took the vehicle back to future Nissan of folsom and they stated that I would have to call the warranty people there was nothing they could do about it. A week later I noticed when I slow down using the breaks it makes a shaking sound, making the whole car shake. This vehicle also has no coverage when pumping gas I noticed the silver cap inside that's suppose to remain closed until you put the gas pump in there in always open, which allows air to get inside. My powertrain is not accelerations properly, it takes about a minute for it to catch its gear.

While driving on the highway and accelerating to merge, the car felt as if it dropped a gear or two and the power was noticeably reduced. The service light on the dash came on and the error message "service stabilitytrac- service traction control" came across the dash. Now the car when it accelerates "jerks" as if it's having trouble making it to the next gear when moving between 20-30mph on the speedometer. The power in accelerating after 30mph is dramatically reduced the faster you wish to go.

I was driving on a rural road at 55 miles per hour in my 2010 Impala and it was just a normal activity no excessive turning or driving. My light came on and said to service traction control. Then my light said engine power has been reduced. I was trying to get to a safe place to pull off the road an my light came on again and it said it was disengaging the throttle and my car just quit. No power steering no warning just quit and I barely got it off the road in time to keep me from crashing! the car wouldn't start for about ten minutes but finally I got it started and made it home. If I had been on the interstate this could have been tragic !
