I am having an issue with the EVAP System. I have a code for a small leak, a gross leak, a bad solenoid. When I went to get it inspected, the MIL Commanded ON showed so the car failed. The mechanic who was inspecting my car said there were five codes, two were transmission which is in another post. The code for this issue are P0442 - EVAP ctrl small leak detected / P0449 - EVAP Vent Value Sol malfunction / P0455 EVAP Cntral System Gross leak detected.
The OBDII test results explanation: MIL Bulb Working - Fail indicated your bulb and//or bulb circuitry is not working Connector Damage - Fail indicates your OBDII Diagnostic Link Connector is damaged, tampered,or inoperable. Communications Established - Fail indicates your OBDII diagnositc link connector is not communicating with the test equipment at the inspection facility. MIL Commanded-On - Fail indicates your vehicle's computer has detected a malfunction in one or more of your vehicle's emission comtrol components. A MIL Commanded-Pn signal indicates your vehicle's computer has stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC). These codes will assist your repair technician in identifying the cause of your failure.
Earlier in the year, I was told there was a small leak in the EVAP system and I needed a smoke test. I cannot find anyone who will do this. Even the dealership does not do this.
I think this car must have been under water at some point. I need to know if there are an recalls for any of these issues.
