I see this is a common theme in this vehicle (2009 Impala). I would think that GM would fix this problem at no cost to the owner if they want return customers. There are an incredible number of cars from which to choose, I know I won't return to this product if I don't feel they are willing to help.
the minute the cars warrenty is over, then you get an expensive item that needs fixing. since I am NOT the only person with this problem I don't see why chevrolet can't fix it for free. this is also the passenger rear door lock!
My 3rd Impala in a row and have had great luck with all of them. I drive about 40,000 kms a year and they are great highway cars and surprisingly good on gas for a larger car. Over the last several months, the passenger side rear door lock stopped releasing when the others release. Even clicking the switch on my door doesn't release it. If your wife is standing out in the rain trying to open the rear door to put in her purse and parcels when you pick her up, you have a problem!!!
I'm going back to the dealer next week for regular service and will ask them to fix it but the car is well past the 60,000 km warranty. Has anyone else had the same problem. Did GM fix it for them at no charge?
2009 Impala with only 44,500 Miles. Both front door lock actuators failed. Needs to have both of them replaced. actuater/solenoid is not a seperate part so it would cost $350 to $400 Retail for Each door!!!! GM should be ashamed of building such poor quality in a one year old car, but whats worse is no reasonable fix. I see where this was a problem in 2008 so GM has not fixed it properly yet.
