About a month ago my 2009 Impala started having this loud clicking noise coming from the glove box. I had never heard this noise before until I had got in my car one morning for work. I heard this very annoying clicking noise and immediately thought my car was going to blow up, it was so loud and out of nowhere. I sat there and started my car, turned it off, started it again, messed with the ac controls, then out of nowhere it just stops. I then began to hear this annoying clicking noise all the time, when I unlocked my car, when I opened a car door, when I locked my car, sometimes when i was just walking by it in the parking lot, and when I messed with the ac controls. The noise always just randomly stopped I became so used to it that it was normal for me, but when I had new passengers, they would ask 'what is that noise?' and 'is it dangerous?' With a helpful YouTube video and Google searches I soon realized this was a the AC actuator and it was a problem for MANY people owning the same make, model and year of car that I own. I then learned it cost people nearly $400 to get fixed at the dealership. I now wonder why there is no recall on this car. I have yet to fix the problem because I have not had much time and I assumed if my car was going to blow up it probably would have already done it.
