I took my vehicle to a local repair shop, they could not find the problem. I took it to Peters Chevrolet and they estimated that the problem will cost me over $400.00 to diagnose and repair.
Sometimes at low speeds my steering goes completely out. I believe it is the power steering pump that is causing this intermittent problem. I am going to get my local shop to replace my power steering pump. At times when the problem occurs, I am attempting to turn into my parking space in front of my Apartment, my steering wheel goes totally inoperative. It feels as though the power steering is completely gone. If I struggle to work my steering wheel back and forth a few times, the problem clears up and I can then proceed to park m car. I need to get this problem fixed, because if it happens on the road or in the process of turning while at reduced speed this could lead to an accident or worse.
