The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Impala. The contact heard a loud abnormal clicking noise when the air conditioner was turned on or off. The noise lasted for approximately two minutes. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The failure occurred daily. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the air conditioner motor needed to be replaced. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection but the cause of the failure was unknown. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and they stated to bring the vehicle in to the dealer for inspection. The failure mileage was 39,000.
I was wondering I hear a clicking sound on my air conditioner what could it be and could that be a recall. I can't turn on my air conditioner because I am scared that my car can catch fire.
2007 Chevrolet Impala. Consumer states vehicle jerked while driving, the air conditioner was clucking, the engine light came on and the speedometer stopped working the dealer advised the consumer the air inlet actuator and speed sensor needed to be replaced.

The contact stated that when switching the air conditioner from the fresh outside air circulation to regular air conditioning, the unit would exhibit an abnormally loud sound. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop where it was diagnosed that the fresh air door actuator was faulty and would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 31,000.
