Just driving, when I pull into a gas station to pump gas and all of a sudden a gentleman tells me, hey your car just leaked all the transmission oil. I said it was running fine, and I looked under the car and didn't see any oil. So he takes me to the back of the car and there was oil all over my car and a huge puddle of oil under the car. I purchased some tranny fluid and poured it in the car and it went right through pouring out so I put more tranny fluid and tried to drive it home because it still drove normally was shifting and driving but only for about 3 miles by then all tranny fluid had leaked out and just wouldn't go anymore, so I had to have the car towed home.

After that I put $75 worth of oil in it to drive it to work and it drove but I had to keep stopping to put oil in the tranny. A mechanic checked it and said its the main seal gasket that needs to be replaced because its not retaining the fluid at all.

My friend has a 2009 Impala and the same problem. My other friend has a 2011 and same problem.

I would never buy another GM product...I bought my 2006 Impala brand new and with 28,000 miles it has transmission problem's and i am sure GM is aware of this but doesn't give a rats butt about it...GM do everyone a favor and close down...it is obvious you are money hungy and not customer satisfaction people....I see many say you are selling lemons...I agree what a waste of my money..

Impala LT 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 37,000 miles

Car will drip tranny fluid at certain times. Turns out the crimps on the end of the tranny fluid cooling lines weaken and start to leak. Plan to have fixed at the next state inspection. Estimate repair to be $200-$300.
