At about 145,000 miles I started noticing a rough low idling in my vehicle. Went to get it checked and they said my intake manifold head gaskets are slightly leaking fluids. What would have led to a blown gasket, we had caught early and will only need to replace the intake head gaskets or intake manifolds for a total of $662. $130 for the part plus 8 hours of labor.

Noticed when car is in park running in the winter that cold air was blowing when heater was on.It was a month after i bought it and my passenger was complaining and started pressing buttons and by mistake hit the AC button so i just assumed that the AC was on since I started car(which it wasn't) because within a minute i got on the highway and warm air was blowing from vents so like an idiot i thought nothing of it.

A couple months later i was driving on the highway and looked at dash display and noticed car was overheating so i pulled over and not a drop of dexcool was in it and ever since then it has became a frequent issue.

I have to refill the dexcool once a month sometimes twice in the summer season.When its cold and I'm running the heater if my car is at a stop for more than 2 MINUTES! my car blows out cold air.Dexcool is always dripping from bottom of car.

I had a warranty which would have covered it but at the time i didn't know much about cars and by the time i realized how serious it was the warranty had expired.I admit i should have taken it to GM dealer while it was under warranty but also once I learned what the problem was I realized that's what the problem was the first time i noticed it wasn't blowing warm air.(that first instance happened after I had the car for a month and a half and it had approx 30,000 miles on it. You shouldn't have to refill coolant once a month in a car that is just over a year old.This is only one complaint Ill soon post more which include the ridiculous oil consumption,the knocking noise coming from trunk area when car is in Drive stopped and idling,and a couple more.

I would love this car if it didn't have these stressful issues.I'll admit when it comes to the driving part of the car it drives very good and the engine performs great. Ive put more than average amount of miles on it,but these problems started at approx 30,000-40,000 miles. Its a 2006 i bought it with 26k miles on it and its now 5/1/2011 and I have approx 134,000 miles on it mostly highway miles. (as you can see I've been wanting to complain about this for a long time I didn't mean to write a book though)

The problem with the intake manifold gasket is really starting to cause big problems in our life. On cold mornings when I have to take my daughter to school the car does not heat because all of the coolant leaks out and we have to ride in a freezing car. We can't fix the problem because we can't afford it, and I feel that we shouldn't have to try to afford it because Chevy put bad parts into their cars! I want the world to know DO NOT BUY CARS MADE BY CHEVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 2006 Impala's intake manifold gasket failed. As I have been researching, I have found this has been an ongoing issue with GM cars. I'll go back to Toyota
