won't shift into 1st gear

This car has been babied for 40000, serviced lovingly and this is the thanks we get!!! This trans. slippage has gone from slight to extremely dangerous in one month... Pulling out across traffic is potentially fatal for my family. Push the accelerator and nothing happens for 3 seconds then SLAM !!!! the car Lurches forward! My aging mother is complaining of a sore neck after a trip to the pharmacy and now refuses to ride in my 5 year old car.

GM should be ashamed of such poor customer care after we bailed them out of their fiscal ineptitude. Do they really want the loyal GM buyers to flee to other auto makers for their own safety? RECALL!! RECALL!! RECALL!! RECALL!! RECALL!! RECALL!!

Impala 3.4L

  • Automatic transmission

OK OK enough is enough. I am tired of fixing this damn car. Called GM when the problem first started to happen(with the transmission) and they told me to take it to dealership, they said they could not reproduce the same thing during a test. hmmm. (bullshit). Then driving down the road in a blizzard the rear defog burns out.($750). Did not fix this problem. Then just 2 days later the windshield wipers get seated in the upright position($200). Did not fix this problem.

However then we get to the really expensive stuff. The cooling system, omg. lucky for me it was only the water pump this time.(I caught it early the mechanic said) And now to the transmission. They say it could cost $3000 cuz the THINK its the computer. NO NO GM you will replace the computer and not from my wallet. Unacceptable, I've called, I've sent emails and their computer emails me back.

I've had enough with these piece of sh*t GM products they are putting on the market. Here I am shopping for a new truck, I love the design of the new silverado but can't bring myself to buy one. And since I can't bring myself to buy foreign, so that leaves me with FORD or DODGE. Sorry GM if you can't produce the I guess its time to close your doors. tim_attewell@hotmail.com

Impala V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 65,000 miles

My boyfriend fell in love with this ex cop car(05 Impala). So we bought it. About 3 month after buying it the transmission quit going into first gear. You could push the pedal to the floor and it would sound like me should be flying but instead it wont go over 25mph. Then after a while it will get into 2nd gear and be fine. Until you have to stop again.... Then we start the process all over. It got so bad that people were flipping us off and honking at us because there was no get up and go. Every has told me the tranny needs to be rebuilt not replace. If I replace it, it will happen again. If I rebuild it with better aftermarket parts it should be just fine. But I have no idea how much it will cost. I thinkin I will just sell it. I've always had Fords this was my first and LAST chevy.
