The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated while driving at 25 mph, there was an unusual noise heard and as the contact attempted to brake, there was an abnormal increase in stopping distance and time. The vehicle was taken to a local repair facility where the mechanic advised replacing the rotors. The vehicle was repaired. Two and a half years later, the failure recurred. The manufacturer advised the contact that the failure potentially was contributed to the fact that he resided in a salt belt state. The manufacturer advised because he did not have prior repair performed at an authorized dealer, they would not provide any assistance. The failure and current mileages were 20,000. Updated 8/4/10 the consumer also stated he was having problems with the fuel pump. Updated 08/09/10
