I bought a 2003 impala base model 2 years ago with 39k miles, not bad ran great, i had the stupid little problems nothing major, until this past friday. i go to start my car, i hear a loud clunking noise after starting very hard. and then a loud pop and my low oil pressure light comes on, because the oil pressure was so high it blew the seal on my oil filter. now this is not the first time it has happened. it happened earlier this year in march and it was under warranty at the time. but now, i had just rolled over my warranty by about 1000 miles....go figure, in 9 months and less than 5000 miles laters, the same problem that the dealer had already "fixed" there answer for it was that my "oil pressure relief valve was shot" personally, ive never heard of that, nor has quite a few of my associates. so im not really sure what i should do...all i know is its not gonna be cheap...but im wondering since it was a problem that was "fixed" by the dealer, should they have to repair it? but either way, ive had to many problems with my chevy in 2 years...soon as i get it fixed....its being traded in for something more reliable.
