My car when just started and pulling onto the main road will start accelerating, then all of a sudden when I increase acceleration pedal, nothing happens, there is a lull. It started on and off six months ago, but recently, now it got worse. I will not only not accelerate but will jerk on and off. When it warms up, it gets a little better. When I'm going 35 and I want to speed up, when i press the accelerator quickly, it will hesitate and jerk. If I give it gas slowly, it ok. Going a a large bridge the other day, it was jerking on and off going up. I was thinking it might be the Air Idle Control Valve because when I put the car in park with the ac on, after a minute or so, the rpms go up to high. I think I could have a dirty idle air control valve, or it needs replacing. Maybe I should change the Fuel filter, idle air control valve, Throttle position Sensor, Plugs, and wires, and clean the throttle body too. The car has almost 110000 miles on it and probable hasn't had the plugs changed since it was new.
