This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
2000 Impala ls had alignment done @35,000 miles. Noticed uneven wear on left front tire ~43,000 miles. Took back to dealer, they said to replace tires and they would realign it. Replaced tires ~ 47,000 miles, took back in and turned out the left front tie rod was bad they can't align it. Tires has about 1/2 of play in it, recommended not to be driven until fixed.
Possible defective tie rod failure caused rubbing sound in the steering column dealer fixed the steering unit and the steel frame still did not correct the problem.
