I purchased this car from a dealership with 62000 km on it and around 72000 the service light indicator came on intermittently while driving. Now I am just above 80000 km and the light is always on "service air bag".
I called GM Canada at their head office and complained with the recalls on their ignition systems that a safety device such as this should be not an issue in the first place. They denied any knowledge of this problem. They said they don't have enough complaints. They expect us to pay.
When I refused, as my car was booked for the recall parts, they booked me on a day where I had to work and refused to give me a loaner vehicle and I missed on a days pay. All they offered was a shuttle to my house and a pick up. And still refused to look into this safety device.
They estimated $250 to look into it . but it would be at my cost where GM should stand behind their product and acknowledge that I am not the only one with a serious safety issue such as this. How many people will have to die before this gets fixed? Especially when they put cheap and faulty crap into their vehicles. I am so close to trading this in for a Dodge.
To make up for this disappointing service I expect full reimbursement for my missed salary, on account of the recall. And for GM to take responsibility and admit they do have an issue that will eventually kill someone.
