Where do I start? OMG!!! The battery was dead on the car, so I drove my wife to work and then came home, thinking it simply needed a new battery. I spent several hours getting the new battery, trying to get into the car to the battery area (inside rear lift gate) because with power locks and no latch release mechanism, you have to become a contortionist to get back there and either remove parts to get to the latch release or simply do what I did, remove the access cover to the battery/spare tire area and replace the battery from the inside. So, I'm thinking the issue is solved. Not even Close.
I happened to be outside that evening and noticed the emergency flashers were on. I opened the door, went to turn them off, only to realize they weren't turned on. The button wasn't pushed. So, I tap above the switch and they go off. They stayed off until I closed the car door. I finally get them to stay off and my wife goes to work the next day. Part way thru the day, a coworker tells her, the flashers are blinking on her car. She is unable to leave her desk and finally turned them off 30min later. That eve after work, I had to go rescue her and the car because apparently they'd gone on again and killed the New battery. GM says it's a faulty Body Control Module which controls Most of the electronics of the the car. They want roughly $600 for this item. Stay tuned. There's MORE>>>
