My 2008 HHR has been very easy on the fuel, nice ride, (but VERY load road noise), comfortable, and I do like it, and I like the back space for my dog. The door locks DO stick, but I haven't had any other problems with it. I haven't spent the money to get them fixed, I just deal with it.

HHR LX

  • Automatic transmission

The door lock on the driver side keeps getting stuck, I have to call OnStar all the time to unlock it. It is so annoying and I am afraid of getting permanently locked out. It is very stressful in dealing with this situation. I have asked OnStar Customer Service how can a log of phone calls be requested to prove this problem exists. It don't make any sense.

About a year after owning the car, the locks got stuck. I had my car parked at my school, and when trying to get into the car (the key fobs had already quit working at this point), I put the key in the only key hole on the car, and it wouldn't turn. Called my insurance company to bail me out...THEN it worked once they got there.

Now I have to test the lock on the door before I close it for fear that the lock won't go up when trying to unlock the car with my key. The only way to unstick the lock is hitting the unlock button on the door, then hitting it again to lock it. I then test the lock by pulling the lock up on the door to make sure it isn't sticking.
