The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet HHR. The contact stated that when driving at any speed, the power steering would fail intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they replaced the power steering motor. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The current mileage was 43,000 and the approximate failure mileage was 42,000. Updated 9/27/11 also, the consumer was unable to remove the key from the ignition when the vehicle was placed in park. The shifter was replaced. Updated 02/01/12
The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet HHR. The contact stated that the gear shift selector would shift independently while driving at any speed, causing the key to remain stuck in the ignition. The dealer was contacted who offered no assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact to repair the vehicle at her own risk. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 7,800 and the current mileage was approximately 9,100.
